What is Collateral marketing? Collateral marketing is when you offer a tangible product of value that you can get into the hands of your potential clients or business partners.

The piece can be in the form of: E-Books, videos, DVD, audio CD, Magazine, Pamphlets, product samples, Newsletters...

What are the benefits of Collateral Marketing?

Acts an incentive for prospects to opt-in to your lists
Most effective way to generate your own leads
Allows you to show the value and benefits of your product/service
Builds trust and rapport
Establishes your credibility
A way of pre-selling whatever it is that you are offering
Effective way of sorting and sifting the quality leads from others
Can be effective in targeting a targeted niche
Viral marketing
Can be very inexpensive form of marketing
Generate another stream of income

Things to consider when implementing collateral marketing:

Know who your target market is
What they are interested in
What their concerns and desires are
Identify what is of value to them
Have a clear understanding of what the purpose of the piece is

People love free stuff, use that to your advantage! This does NOT have to be expensive, in fact the cheaper it is for you to distribute the better off you will be financially. $$ is the #1 reason people fail in business. People can blow their budgets very quickly here, I have talked with thousands of independents who have maxed out credit cards and had nothing to show for it.

Marketing pieces that are electronic are a great pieces because once you have the piece composed, it is free to redistribute thousands of times over. You can write your own material, outsource it or purchase an ebook that has resale rights and make it yours. They can however run the risk of being downloaded and forgot about or lost into cyberspace.

Tangible pieces are effective because they are something that your prospects can touch and feel and more likely to be left out on a desktop or counter as a visual reminder but will cost you more per unit.

Either way always make sure you have your personal contact information as well as your website on or in the piece so that it is viral, you want people to be able to find their way back to you and if they share it with someone else you will be the one who they come to for more information.

I recommend that you utilize several forms of marketing both on and off line. Use electronic methods to get your foot in the door but always offer secondary offers so that once someone opts in for additional offers they are more qualified and warrant an offline piece.....

Overcoming Adversity

Whether we have a personal goal or a business aspiration we all face adversity along our journey that we must overcome. When adversity comes it is easy to become overwhelmed and feel that you will not be victorious, but it is important to remember that every successful individual or leader started from the beginning and had challenges that they too had to overcome.

For a long time I thought that my sign of success was no adversity, boy was I wrong. I have learned that when things are going easy I'm not making progress and not striving towards anything worthwhile.

I have realize that in order to achieve great things one must become great within themselves. We must be worthy of the rewards we seek.... in order to become worthy of our goals and dreams we must progress and journey as individuals, business owners, leaders and as human beings.

I have faced adversity in many forms in my personal life, in my business as individually. Here is a list of tips that have helped me overcome my adversities.

Overcoming Adversity Tips:

Accept that the best things in life do not come without testing our worthiness
Recognize that we learn more from our challenges and failures than we do our successes
Keep a vivid visual of why we are seeking whatever it is we are pursuing
Ask do we have the will to persevere - Never Quit!
Positive Self talk and attitude, believe in yourself - believe it is possible
Approach challenges as a door of opportunity waiting to be opened
I don't have to do anything, I get to
Sets goals, weekly-monthly-yearly
Prioritize things of importance in life - family, personal and business
Know your core values
Balance in all things
Be willing to make the sacrifices that come with success with limitations
Be a professional student, learning continually
Self discipline; time management, emotions, consistency
It's not a sprint It's a Marathon, set a pace you can sustain for a long period of time
Take things one step at a time
Don't be Reactive - be Proactive, be In Action, be A Do-er
Have an attitude of gratitude, things could be worse - there is someone worse off
Acceptance of being human & making mistakes
Choose who you associate yourself with very carefully
Enjoy the journey and the process, don't focus on the result
Fail fast then move on

Our strengths are uncovered in times of adversity and strengthened when we keep trying, struggling and even failing until we succeed.

What Kind of Sense Do Mortgages Make Anyways

Have you ever stopped and thougth about how much your mortgage is really costing you?

Mortgages are one of the largest financial commitments a person makes in their life time and for the longest time period as well, wouldn't you think that more people would be more $$ Smart in this area? In reality the average homeowner pays double the initial investment amount, so in reality we all will pay for own homes TWICE!

In today's volatile economy are you in a position to loose that kind of money and not be hurt by that?

I came across an article that I wanted to share because it was honest, powerful and thought provoking.

The Truth About Mortgage Loans--Doris S. Dobkins is a money saving expert and the author the newly published book: Refinance Secrets Revealed .

When you close on a new mortgage, your loan papers state the interest rate you will be paying for your loan. But is that interest rate really as good as it looks?
Out of your monthly payment that you faithfully make each month, do you know how much of that amount is actually going towards interest?
During the signing of your loan papers, you might have noticed a large sum being disclosed (about three times the size of your mortgage) which indicates the amount of interest and principal you would be paying over the life of your loan? For example, if you have a 30-year fixed loan for $100,000, over 30 years, you would have paid approximately $300,000 to your lender.
Only 1/3 of that money is actually what you borrowed. The majority of your hard earned money is actually interest payments. To verify this for yourself, take your current monthly payment that you make to your lender, (principal and interest only) and multiply it by 360 for a 30-year loan and you'll see the total payments your lender would receive over 30-years. That huge sum of money in interest is going to someone else. It is money that should be working for you and building you wealth.

Do We Have Your Attention....

Do you really want to work three decades to give your lender such a large chunk of your hard earned money?
Here's another tidbit of information that is even more important. How often do you move? In America, the average person moves every 7 years. I don't know about you but when most people move into a new house, they get a new mortgage and go right back to payments where 90% of the amount is going towards interest.
If you are average, you'll probably never pay off a house in your lifetime unless you become aware of how money works. And one of these days, it may be too late.

It is already to late for so many.....

Think of it like this. If you have a 30-year fixed, $100,000 mortgage at 7% interest and you move after 5 years, you will still owe 94% of your original loan or $94,000. Of the thousands of dollars you have paid over 5 years, you will only have reduced the principal by $6,000 because most of your payment for the first 5 years goes towards interest.

After 10 years of payments, (120 payments) you'd still owe about 86% of your mortgage balance. It takes literally 20-25 years of mortgage payments just to reach the 50% mark.
If you are one of those people who are not prepaying a mortgage because it is your last tax shelter, think about what you are really doing. You are paying a dollar of interest to get back 28 cents in tax deductions (or whatever your tax rate is). This is called "negative cash flow."

Another reason I hear for hanging onto a mortgage is that people would rather use the money to invest and get a greater return. First of all, this is not an apples to apples comparison as one is a guaranteed rate of return and the other is not. There's no guarantee with other investments like there is with paying off a mortgage. It all boils down to risk. Yes, you may come out ahead in some investments but they are not guaranteed. If your money were in the stock market, paying off your mortgage might have given you a greater return than you are getting right now.

So what is the solution? Pay extra on your mortgage and get it paid off early! Even just one extra payment a year will remove about 8 years from a 30-year loan.

Overcoming Negativity is tough! Most people don't realize how their thoughts are sabotaging their lives; spiritually, financially and socially.

There are so many things we can not change in life but our attitude, the way we approach situations is in our control.

It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company... a church... a home.

Avoid negative thinkers
Spend time with people who have good attitudes
Share your goals and successes with those who will be excited and supportive of you
Realize it's their problem not yours
Recognize it is rooted from different perceptions of life, money, happiness, marriage, family...
Cut dead weight - If it doesn't help you grow it has to go!
Start each day with something positive
Read something inspirational everyday
Set goals that stretch your comfort levels, yet are attainable
Focus on the solution to a problem, not the problem
Say positive things to yourself
Stop negative thoughts before you think them
Celebrate your accomplishments, successes and victories
Look at challenges as learning opportunities not set backs - we learn more from our failures than we do our successes.
Become part of a mastermind group of like-minded individuals with common goals
Recognize that everyone has challenges, most are far worse than the ones you are encountering

In my experience 99.9% of the time negativity is fear driven. Fear of personal insecurities, fear of the unknown, fear of change, fear of failure, fear of embarrassment, fear of being surpassed by others, even fear of success.

Whatever it is that you are saying to yourself in your head, is what will become. You must master your thoughts before you can master your life. Family can make or break your success. Building a business is time consuming, stressful and tough! If you have goals you are working towards and your family is unsupportive it can cause major setbacks in your progress and even stop you dead in the water.

Ideas for dealing with negative family members:

Share your goals with them
Let them know why you are doing what you are doing
Involve them in what you are doing
Share your successes with them
Take an objective assessment - make necessary adjustments on your part, be willing to compromise

If these don't work then you may need to:

Avoid talking about business at all with them
Just show them only results
Try to do your business while they are involved in other activities

One of the dynamics of Network Marketing is that you can choose who you get to work with. If you are struggling with negativity and self doubt, you will attract those types of people to your business. I have used and had experience with different contact managers over the years with ACT, Getresponse and Aweber but Oprius has it all in one package. SBI - Site Build It

When I was first introduced to SiteBuildIt! I thought it was a excellent service and great value so I began recommending it to my team members as a resource in helping them be more effective in building their businesses. Where are you feeling the pinch?

Squeezed by lofty prices for gasoline, food and other products, worried about their jobs and rattled by talk of a recession, people are hunkering down and doing without.

BIGresearch, a firm that tracks consumer behavior, said 53.6% of people they polled are focusing more on what they needed, rather than what they want, during their shopping trips over the last six months.

Personal spending accounts for the single-biggest chunk of gross domestic product, which measures national economic activity:

New Home sales fell to the lowest level in more than 16 years...
Company's trying to boost profitability cut costs by cutting jobs...
Citigroup announced it would cut another 9,000 jobs, on top of the 4,200 cuts announced during the previous quarter.
AT&T said it will slash its payroll by 1.5%. The estimated 4,650 pink slips will mostly come in management positions.
Harley-Davidson said it would cut 8% of its workforce, about half of which will come from the production unit. Even after reporting better-than-expected earnings, motorcycle manufacturer still plans to cut 730 jobs.

Economic Impact...As profitability and revenues drop, companies will continue to hack jobs.

63% of business owners expect to see little or no benefit from government rebate checks designed to boost the economy.

With the financial markets volatile, layoffs looming, and consumer confidence hitting its lowest point in five years, provider of high-end goods and services say they are starting to register a sharp downturn in discretionary spending. Here are some examples:

Bookings at Leading Hotels of the World are down 10% so far for 2008
Providers to steakhouses restaurant report customers exchange prime cuts for lower-grade meat.
Game-store sales dipped 4.6% in its most recent quarter
Sales of yachts in the $200,000 to $800,000 range have declined 50%, prompting sellers to cut prices by as much as 20%.
Pilates coaches report several of their clients have started exchanging $90 private lessons for cheaper group classes.

"The inherent optimism we have found among these business owners is absent in these new findings, reinforcing our view that the U.S. economy is falling into a short and shallow recession for the first half of this year," said Stuart Hoffman, chief economist for the PNC Financial Services Group.

OK, now that we know we need to get to "first base" to get the ball rolling in the "Making Money Dept." Now we need to know what first base looks like. It will be a lot easier to hit a target if you can see it.

1-Decide exactly what is "First Base" for you. We will all be driving different vehicles so our "first victory" goal will all be different. You need to decide what that will be and look like for you. Whether it be retailing $xx amount of product this month or sponsoring one business partner or selling one xyz benefits package. It is very important that you are very specific with this -"I will sell one benefits package a week" or "I will retail $100.00 worth of product every week".

2-WRITE IT DOWN! What ever you determine"First Base" to be then put it to paper. Nothing is real until we put it on paper. Success "wannabes" keep ideas in their heads. All highly successful people; Tony Robbins, Mark Victor Hansen, Dale Carnegie, Robert Allen, Robert Kiyosaki, Stephen R. Covey and others all put whatever they do down on paper. All successful entrepreneurs put their ideas on paper.

3- Get to work! Action is the only thing that will build your business. Reading does not give you real personal growth. Experience does. Application does. Read and apply. If How To's Were Enough...

4- Increase your goals each week and month. Once you have successfully achieved one "Financial Victory" aka first base, then you will need to focus your thoughts on Second base.

When you are first getting started, it is really about getting positive results.
Start by working on getting a strong foundational education and universal success principles.

Most success junkies never get the ball rolling in the “making money dept.”
It takes more than just hard work. It takes the proper mindset.

Most people focus on the “big money”, if you have never even made $100.00 as an entrepreneur what makes you think you can earn $10,000.00/mo. in a short time frame?

If you want an Oak tree- you first need an acorn.
If you want to go to second grade- you first need to get past first grade.

Most people try to make $10,000/mo. before they have even made $350.00/mo.
It is OK to have big goals but there is a whole series of events that have to take place first. You have to build up to it. The process has to be taken from 1ST... 2ND... 3RD... 4Th... 5Th. In the begining it is not about shooting for the moon, it is about aiming for an achievable amount that is not beyond your capability.

So how do you get started.... Where do you begin...

YOU need small victories to propel you to make the bigger figures. By getting the first "Financial Victory" that will move you closer to the next one, moving you closer to the "Big" one, all the while it is:
-Building your belief in yourself
-Building your self esteem
-Making you feel good about yourself
-Building your skill
-Increasing your willingness to take even more action

Because you can see you are getting results you are motivated to do more rather than getting discouraged because nothing is happening. Most of the time people inadvertently set themselves up for failure because they reach for too much too soon and without the right plan or mindset to achieve it. Then when they fail it adds to the negative mental reinforcement, and they then spend time and effort focusing on the failure (your thoughts).

Our Thoughts set the stage for success or failure. If we want success we need to focus on "victories" (notice I said victories -plural/multiple, not victory). Without these small victories you can not learn what is necessary to move on to the bigger levels.

A "Home Based" Network Marketing Business

For someone who really had a deep desire to be home with her kids, running around to meetings all of the time really defeated the purpose of having a "Home Based" network marketing business.
We always hear that network marketing or MLM is a real home based business. However most of the methods traditionally taught in our industry are NOT methods you can do effectively or consistently from home. Almost all of the required activities to build one's business involve activities outside of your home. Thus completely defeating the purpose of a home based business. It now becomes a "run around to meetings" business.

So before becoming involved in ANY company, decide;
1- do I want a business that I can run 100% from my home?
2-how do I want to go about the actual "building" of my network marketing business?

If you answered from home - the good news is you can! The reality is you will need to learn to market. Unfortunately the majority of marketers out there never learn this skill set.

Warning if the company you are looking at or already involved with has strict restrictions on marketing you may want to reconsider your decision or just be aware that your options for building will be limited.

For me personally one of the major reasons why I chose and love this industry is because of the personal freedom it allows one to attain. So being able to work my business from just about any location is key for me. Online Business

If your objective is to make money from the comfort of your own home by building a business that allows flexibility and to be able to do things on YOUR terms; then I encourage you to gain and education on multiple marketing methods that you CAN do from home - over the phone, Internet, email and the mail.

This is a process that will take time and effort, but understand that gaining this professional skill set will allow you to become TRUELY INDEPENDENT and will have huge dividends in the near future.

The whole "perk" of this type of business is to get paid tomorrow off of something that we did yesterday, so why not plant seeds that will have a high yield vs. one that will be a weak producer. If you're going to do the work why not get the most mileage out of your efforts.

Network Marketing is the only vehicle for the common person to achieve Personal and Financial Freedom. Franchises are to expensive and a JOB provides a "living" not wealth.
Many have attempted network marketing and most have failed.
Is there such a thing as “Network Marketing Success”?

Absolutely!
There is no such thing as a "magic formula"; if it were everyone would be rich. However if you do have the “right components" you can achieve an unbelievable level of success.
How do I know? I have done it.
Although I had immediate success when I first got started, unlike the majority of people, I didn't have a fairy tale ending (at first.) I have been in this industry now for over 6 years and have seen it all; the good, the bad and the ugly!

I have seen all of the Traditional Ways of "chasing" (let me stress the word chasing and not attaining) “Network Marketing Success.” Attending ALL the Hotel Meetings, Three Way Calls, Recorded Sizzle Calls, One on Ones, Fancy Power Point Presentations, Buying all of the Hottest New Marketing Tools and passing it out like hot cakes, Leaving your Business Cards at Gas Stations, Covert Tactics at the Grocery Store, Passing out Home Made Flyers on the Windshields of Cars in parking lots, Posting Flyers at the local Dry Cleaners and Grocery Stores with the little Rip Off Tabs. Ok, I could go on but you get the picture.

I have seen things that are Packed full of effort and yield NO return! Why…

You're chasing a ghost! There is not a "Specific Target" in those tactics; it is all "Random" Prospecting.

There is no substance or method in those plans, these types of tactics are attempts of "chance."
Who has time for that?

Why don't people stay on Auto-Ship??

“I can't seem to get my distributors to consistently order products each month, and most of them aren't working the business.”
This is a common problem encountered by most Network Marketers. More than likely these people are not making money! If people don’t make money they will not continue to reinvest when they don’t see a return. Helping people get into profitability as quickly as possible is a direct parallel to retention and activity.
Most people fail to realize that a Network Marketing business, just like any other type of business, will need a marketing budget. In most cases it takes a very long time to generate enough in monthly commissions to cover even your monthly autoship, not to mention Company Events…Leads…Training and Self Development..Marketing tools etc.etc.
Talk about fighting a loosing battle!
Statistically what happens is that it takes so long to get into profitability (if ever) and because in most cases people don’t have the personal financial resources to continue to feed their businesses indefinitely without a return, they quit, drop out or are put out of business with nothing more to show than a whole lot of debt!
Regardless of the business you are building, you will find most downline do not have money to market. Not having the money to market will hinder the duplication process. This is where it would be an advantage to earn a second check. It just makes sense to build your marketing budget by making money off of your own marketing efforts.

The Cancer of Network Marketing- Attrition!

If you want people to stay you need to get a check in their hands as quick as possible!
How do you do that?
You need to have an “Earning Income Quickly” strategy for your new people. This is where all of the "traditional" ways or, what I call "ill-advised" theories, come into play. Most people will tell you to make a list of a 100 people including family and friends – don’t prejudge - think of the kid who mows your lawn or the lady at the laundry mat – you know there is no way she could possible like her job so she is a prime candidate. The next questions is, candidate for what? Almost every networker will tell you, your opportunity of course.

I say no way! That will be the "kiss of death" for your business.

This way of thinking is misguided and leads to failure, disappointment and societal exile. Who has that as their long term goal?

Your warm market is a great place to start retailing your product, NOT looking for business builders!

If you want people to stay in your business, stay engaged and motivated you need to:
1-Help them earn a check ASAP
2-Give them a concrete plan of action
3-Have an active retention strategy
4-Provide nuts and bolts fundamental business education training

The best way to help people earn a check quickly is to teach them to retail product! Let me say it another way- Customer acquisition. Also offer ways of generating multiple income streams and ways of making money off of their own marketing efforts.

Everyday I see people flocking to this industry in droves because they see and hear “free”, “effortless”, or “quick” money. For someone like myself, who loves this industry and truly strives to help other people succeed, but witnesses so much failure, it is a huge concern when I see all of the misinformation, misleading claims and downright LIES that are being told in our industry. (Most often by people who should and do know better).
Prospects and distributors are being promised everything under the sun to get them to join and build the business. They are told that success will be easy and "anyone" can do it. The problem is... once these people join and discover that it DOES take a bit of work and requires a skill set to build a successful business, most of them feel like they have been lied to and realize that they are not going to just get "something for nothing" so they drop out and walk away with a bad taste in their mouth about the entire industry. Which in turn makes the job all the more difficult for all of the rest of us who are out there attempting to do business the correct way. Those of us who are being honest and upfront with people by telling them that it will take time, effort, and work.

What you advertise is what you attract. “No selling required”, “Turn key” and “effortless systems” will attract lazy dishonest people. People who want something for nothing!

The whole advantage of Network Marketing is that you will get paid on something that you did yesterday. However if you do not put in the initial work you will have nothing to reap later.

I guess I am just old fashioned, it used to be that a person was defined by the fruits of his labors. A good man or woman, took great pride in their hard work and knowing that they had been completely honest in all of his dealings with everyone. There was a deep sense of self-pride and accomplishment by earning something worth while by the sweat of one's brow. I believe that is still true and does still exists to day even in our “fast pace” “high tech” society, it just needs to be kept in mind with all of the “Hype”, “Smoke” and “ Mirrors” out there.
If I can give any advice to someone who is researching or new to Network Marketing it would be; find and work with REAL people who have realistic expectations, someone who is honest and upfront with you, and if you are afraid of or to lazy too work for something worth having, stop now and go buy a lottery ticket.

Working Smarter not Harder!

Effort alone, how hard you work on your business, will not gauge your success. In a 1998 study, effort was revealed as the single most overrated attribute in producing success. Most people ranked it as the best forecaster of success when in reality it is one of the least important factors. Effort, by its self, is a terrible way of predicting an outcome because ineffective effort is an incredible source of discouragement, leaving people to conclude that they can never succeed, since even applying great effort has not created results.

One major issue with those who fail in Network Marketing is having unrealistic goals and unrealistic expectations of what it will take to achieve those goals. As a result people get discouraged because their “hard work” did not pay off.

How do we work smarter?

Make an effort analysis, what have we been doing? Is it getting us the results we desire? What are the results we desire? Be very specific. Who is achieving the results we desire? Learn what their doing then compare our efforts to their system, make the necessary adjustments? Find and implement tools and systems that will leverage our efforts.
Don’t confuse BUSY work with REAL action! This is so significant, as important as "preparing" to build is, nothing will happen unless you "take the action" necessary.

You need to identify where you want to go long-term, then break it down backwards to monthly goals, weekly and daily so that you have a plotted out plan that will get you to your long-term goal.

Home Based Business Tax Relief

I love the W-4 strategy that is highlighted in an eBook I have, "It's not how much you make - it's how much you get to keep!". In that file, they suggests that a person who is earning W-2 income can increase his/her take home pay enough to fund their home based business by simply giving themselves a raise by increasing the number of dependents enough to increase their take home pay (net) $200 per month. In this way, they can fund their home based business with this "found" money. In effect, the government is paying for their business by reducing the taxes they collect. AND, that's not all! The tax deductions for a home based business are phenomenal and should more than offset the transfer of this "new" money from taxes collected - to take home income. Here's a way to use that strategy:Either go to http://www.irs.gov/ , look at the tax tables and determine how many dependents you have to add to increase your take home pay by $200 per month; OR ask your payroll clerk to answer that question for you. Increase your W-4 dependents accordingly (you're allowed to claim up to 15 no matter how many you actually have because the mandatory W-4 tax collection system is meant to equalize tax collected vs. taxes owed) Open another checking account to use exclusively for your business. If you're on a "direct deposit" system for your pay, then you can probably add an additional account to have a specific amount deposed to. Have the equivalent new income added to that account each pay period; OR, if you don't have direct deposit, then you need to be disciplined enough to write a check from your family account to your business account each pay period to transfer your new business funds. This new checking account can pay for marketing, tools, resources, etc. to make your business prosper - without going into debt or spending scarce household money. This can all happen such that the family budget is not impacted at all since the money is coming from a separate account and is funded by reducing the taxes that are collected each pay period.

This last week I had the pleasure of hearing and meeting Paul Zane Pilzer in person. What an amazing experience and I want to share what I learned.

Paul gave some stats:
1991- 3.6 million millionaire households
2001- 7.2 million millionaire households
2006- 10 million millionaire households
He predicted in the next 9 years there will be 20 million millionaire households.

In 1981 Forbs 400 list was created- this is a list of the top wealthiest people. In 2006 only 40 of the original people stayed on the list. All of the new people come from poor or middle class, did not graduate, and had no or little college education.

What does that mean? We are creating new wealth.
How is this possible? Because we are in a social evolution.
Our economy started with the majority of our population being farmers and ranchers. Then through hard ships like drought, loss of crops, the great depression our society's mindset shifted to people wanted the "security" of working for other people, hence the birth of large corporations. People gave up personal freedom to work for someone else. In 1970 there were over a million employee's.

Then the cost of transactions drooped, the Internet emerged and it became cheaper and cheaper to; call long distance, use computers, access the Internet, buy faster more advanced technology, transfer funds, make business transactions. The result- the floors started to fall out of the large corporations.

Now we are moving back to salaries based on personal output.
Large corporations like IBM and Hewlett Packard are already on to this trend and adjusted their marketing to be compatible with the market flux.
Today technology and services are now catering to the individuals not large corporation. For example personal lap tops, cell phones with more memory and access to the Internet, even insurance and benefit plans.

People want better life styles they want to enjoy life while they are here and not wait til they get to heaven.

Is your Upline Hi-Jacking YOUR business?

I was talking to a friend this week who was telling me about his experience with his upline and sponsor and I was horrified at what he shared with me.
When he joined that business he told his upline and sponsor that he would not work the business full time and that he would be putting his other business first. He made it very clear that this would be something that he would work “around” his business that was his solitary income source and around his small family.
Despite all of that they continued to call him weekly and daily asking him who he had talked to and if he was coming to the meeting with a prospect. They would show up at his house and inflict high pressure meetings with him and his wife, telling them that they needed to get babysitters and take more time to build the business. They even had the nerve to tell him he needed to take more time off of work so his wife could work the business and “in just a few years he would be a stay at home dad!”
He had absolutely no desire to be a stay at home dad.
That was their objective not his. They had completely disregarded his wants and needs and looked at him not as a person but as means to their goal.

I see this all the time- people being used as stepping stones for someone else to reach their goals. That is not what the Network Marketing business model was designed to accomplish. It is designed to help individuals achieve personal and financial freedom by working “with” not “for” other like minded people. People who work synergistically towards common goals that in due course reach individual destinations.

People want to work with people who care about their wants, needs and goals, people who are sincere and have honest intent to help them.
NO one likes being taken advantage off or "used"!

Bottom line I needed an Education in Network Marketing, if I was going to make a professional level of income I needed to be really good at what I did.

I have worked with thousands of NWM’ers in hundreds of different companies, what is the difference between those that reach a high level of success and those that never make back their initial investment? Knowledge!

Those who are highly successful are perpetual learners; they hunger for new information and make it a priority to learn new information, techniques, and ways of doing business.

Something to be Proud of - Your Business Ehtics

I love what I do; I am passionate about the Network Marketing Industry and the window of opportunity it offers individuals in their personal and financial lives.

Unfortunately, not everyone looks at this industry the same.
Many look at it as an opportunity to make large amounts of money
no matter what the cost or who they step on along the way.

I am a country girl who was taught that a man is only as good as his word, his name and reputation was his most prized and valued possession.

Sadly there are many people in this industry lack the attributes and qualities I hold sacred; honesty, integrity, ethics, decency, morally right, self satisfcation, honor, pride in job well done, professionalism, loyalty.

When I came to this industry over 5 years ago I knew I had found my niche.
Of course I was immediately exposed to some of the commonly accepted and repeatedly taught, unethical practices of building a Network Marketing business. I was not willing to trade my name or reputation in exchange for a buck! I knew that there had to be other and better ways of conducting business that would not require me to lie, mislead people or use hype to make a sale.
I made the decision early on that I was going to build my business with standards, ethics, and Professionalism!

The first step in that direction was when I chose to associate myself with honest reputable people, People that I respected and trusted, People I knew cared about me and my goals.

However NOT EVERYBODY in this industry does business in that manner.
Some look at others just as “one more sale” or “just another commission”.
Once they close the deal they are never to be heard from again!

I have seen people go about conducting business in despicable ways, under the table, pressure sales, hype, empty promises, mis-using people every single day and never thinking twice about it.

Doing business this way was not even a choice for me, and I will not work with anyone who conducted or condoned this behavior.

I do not want to “just be successful”, I want to able to look back and be proud of the way I conducted myself, and the way I treated people!
I mistakenly thought (at first) that everyone else would want the same thing;
boy was I in for a rude awakening.

I pride myself on haven not taking the “well beaten path” to build my business.

I have no tolerance for people who abuse and take advantage of others;
People who are bullies are deplorable!

Everyone has a choice of how they conduct themselves in this industry; It is my goal to suffocate the weeds that tarnish the reputation of our industry.

My challenge to all of you, those people who have put their trust in you and joined you in business, YOU as the sponsor or upline have an obligation and commitment to them, You owe them endless devotion and commitment.
Appreciate those who have been loyal to you.

The Question "What does it really take to succeed in network marketing? "

What a great question, I hear this one all of the time.

No one wants to waste time or money learning how to successfully build a Network Marketing business. I have road the roller coaster along my journey as all of us in this industry do. Learning is very important however- learning the "correct" information is vital to long term success.
We are in the people business -network
but also in sales -marketing
Learning a professional skill set in both areas is so so important!
There are literally thousands of trainers, systems, coaches, and mentors out there all teaching different techniques and strategies.

You need to find one that fits you and your specific situation. Factors to look at are; your time availability, marketing budget, and what aligns with you personally, morally, and ethically. What works for one will not work for everybody!

The Internet is a living and ever changing entity, learning how to market your business online and have it be effective for you can be very tricky, overwhelming and almost impossible to learn on your own. Without help and the right information one can destroy their chances of any success with one "click" of a mouse.

I would also caution anyone who wants to build a business "FAST" what goes up fast will come down even faster. Yes we would all like to make "instant" income- however without a strong foundation you will breed instability into your organization.
Once you have it built you want it to stay!

Overcoming Challenges In Network Marketing

How does one overcome challenges and struggles in Network Marketing?
This is a loaded question!
Most people fall into four or five main categories when talking about struggles in MLM.
Most are things that are fixable if they would take "a road less traveled" when building their MLM business and not the standard "do everything your upline tells you to do" method.
However most people act like a flock of blind mindless sheep off to the sloter.
They fear the things they don't know so they hide behind the tails of a upline leader who they
have been told is successful and all they have to do is "believe" in their dream and they will have wild success!
All they while they are ruining friendships, wasting time and effort, and going deeper in debt with marketing tactics that will not generate a return.
People are told and scared into NOT thinking for themselves, they don't recognize their independence as a business owner, they act like they are still an employee.
I work with independents every day in hundreds of different companies, who have been taught to act like an employee of their company and report to their upline like a shift supervisor, afraid to think or act for themselves for fear of not succeeding.

YOU are the one who made the initial investment, YOU are the one putting in the effort, YOU are the one who is going to be out if you do not succeed-They won't pay you a commission just cause!

How do I Find a "Good" Company?

This question is one of the most confusing and perplexing questions that needs to be answered once you decide you want to own your own Home Based Business.
I see people everyday that drop out of or fail in our industry, now there are several reason why people fail in a home based network marketing business, but there is one big one that is not always admitted or even recognized, "Finding a company that is a good fit for YOU! "

Why is this so important...

If you are promoting something that does not align with you, your goals and personality
you will have a HARD time, if not impossible time selling it to anyone else.

When researching, people who do not have the proper knowledge, fall subject to hype and
empty promises. Then when things fail they walk away scratching their heads, not sure what
really happened and blame it on "The Industry!"

So how does one find something that is a good fit for them?

I have worked with thousands of people in hundreds of different companies, honestly it can be overwhelming in looking for a new company; you can get paralyzed from even taking action. Especially if you do not have a lot of knowledge on what to look for, good and bad.

Here are some bullet points that may help you;
Positives:
#1 They don't use HYPE
-Company is planning for long-term growth with clear vision-Stability
-Professional Product or Service
-They have a product that would stand alone without an income opportunity attached to it
-It has good marketability -Good strong target market
-Website gives lots of "helpful and educational" information that allows you to get all your questions answered
-They have tools and systems in place to help independents get going no matter what level they’re at
-Company has a sincere and pure mission, their focus is not just making $$, they want to help people in specific aspects of their lives, (be careful this can be masked creatively)
-Customer service is knowledgeable and helpful
-Strong Team and Sponsor support who cares about your success, goals and needs. Having the success you desire
-They show you how to get reliable, qualified prospects
-It is something you can be passionate about and would be proud of

Negatives:
-They have made changes in the compensation plan
-Have they have repeated bad publicity
-You wouldn’t buy the product for yourself
-They use and teach unethical sales methods and techniques
-The market is saturated or overdone, highly competitive markets are very tough if not impossible to break into
-You are required to make pre-purchase to try it
-Company does not stand behind their products or does not offer money back guarantee
-Make claims on income potential; advertise independent marketer’s income levels
-You should not have to roll up any of your sales to your upline
-Large monthly fees for replicated sites
-They make more revenue off of their sales tools (CD's, Books, trainings, pamphlets, leads) than the actual product sales
-Front end loading, required to purchase product to stock to get started
-If they tell you to make a list of all your family and friends

Bottom line choose something that aligns with YOU personally, morally and ethically. Other points to consider are your time availability, skill level, and also your budget (initial investment and also monthly marketing budget)

Did you know you have Rights??

Distributor Rights Association "Distributor Bill of Rights"2. Distributors' personal business relationships shall be honored and protected. Distributors' downlines that are personally sponsored and personal retail customers are part of the distributor's business. Companies will recognize the sacred nature of the sponsor/distributor relationship. Distributors have the right to expect company's efforts to support and sustain that relationship, and do nothing to compete with or harm the Distributors business. No restrictions should be placed on any legitimate business relationship, regardless of a competing company being involved or not.

I am writing in response to the letter I received on June 18, 2007 and also responding to the specific violations stated in the email received from Molly Stevens on June 18, 2007 which states:

This letter serves notice that for apparent violations of the Leaders Club Terms of Membership ("Terms") and the terms of the written Leaders Club Certified Marketing Consultant ("CMC") agreement, we are suspending your Leaders Club account pending further investigation.

After several months of research Leaders Club has determined the following...

1) Ann Sieg's "Renegade Network Marketer" program is a competitive program. We have exhausted all private channels and are currently pursuing legal action. Any CMC member involved or promoting this program is in violation of the CMC Agreement and Leaders Club's membership terms.

The Renegade system is a Marketing system; Leaders Club is a training and education system. They do not compete with each other.

2) After talking with key WorksTeam leaders and reviewing e-mails, websites and call recordings we have found that the WorksTeam is offering training which is similar to Leaders Club, to persons not involved with Leaders Club. Additionally, the tone and language observed is indicative that this training is meant to dilute Leaders Club services. We consider this to be a breach of the CMC agreement.

I have never been contacted by anyone from LC corp regarding this matter.
What call recordings? WE do not record them-if you claim to have recorded versions of these “supposed” calls they were acquired without permission which is illegal on your part which in turn constitutes legal action against LC corp.
If you consider referencing leaders club training audios and training material (witch we reference on every call and also post on our team website) diluting Leaders Club services you may want to look up the definition of dilution in the dictionary. “act of thinning or weakening: a thinning or weakening of a substance, usually a liquid, by the addition of another substance such as water”
The Works Team is and never has been a Leaders Club sanctioned call- it is a group of like minded independent marketers who have chosen to provide access and support to our various team members and subscribers, all of whom are in various companies and situations. Which retention and support is taught and required by Leaders club “Customer Retention Plan” “Follow up and Follow through”., So are you implying that if we as INDEPENDENTS follow the teachings and techniques taught by Leaders Club we are going to be in violation and then punished?
Our team call (not a Leaders Club sanctioned call) is open to those not actively in Leaders club, but by us structuring our outline around referencing LC audios and training we are promoting and encouraging people’s involvement in Leaders Club.

3) We have numerous complaints with supporting evidence that there is a concerted effort from numerous WorksTeam members to recruit existing Leaders Club subscribers into another multi-level company. Our evidence show this contact is both coordinated and targeted to the entire organization. This is a clear violation of the Leaders Club membership terms.

We as independent consultants do make a concerted effort to help any member of our team with resources and tools to help them succeed in their chosen business-just like the "theoretical” mission of Leaders Club. We made a commitment to each of them we would take considerable time and effort to help them succeed in THEIR chosen businesses. We do not focus on actively recruiting Leaders club sub into another multi-level company. We share resources, ideas and tools to help them be more successful; same as when we referred them to subscribe to Leaders Club for training, techniques and proven strategies to help them in their chosen business!

The Leaders Club Membership Terms below, gives me the right to contact my personally sponsored subscribers to recruit or sell another service not affiliated with Leaders Club:

Remedy on Violation: All Leaders Club marketers must abide by these terms and the policies stated in the membership manual. Leaders Club reserves the right to suspend or terminate any marketer that fails to abide by this agreement. Voluntary or involuntary termination will result in the marketers loss of rights to his/her commissions from termination month on. Any disciplinary action taken to enforce these terms and policies will remain at the discretion of Leaders Club. Marketers may request arbitration within 8 weeks to appeal any Leaders Club enforcement decision.

Sponsorship Responsibility: Marketers are required to maintain ongoing contact with their personally enrolled marketers and marketers within the second and third level qualifying as "Manager" or higher in order to qualify for residual commission. Examples of such contact include written communication, telephone contact, e-mail, etc. Marketers may be asked to provide evidence of ongoing communication at any time. Marketers that fail to show a good faith effort to fulfill this policy may be subject to disciplinary action....

Marketer Status: All marketers are independent contractors and are paid commission based on the personal sales of Leaders Club products and services and the sales made by the marketers' organization according to the published compensation plan. Marketers may not represent themselves as partners, employees or agents of Leaders Club or its parent company Target Media Group. Marketers are responsible for any and all applicable state/federal taxes and must abide by all applicable laws and regulations. Leaders Club services and compensation program is void where prohibited.

Finally, I feel my subscribers are being deceived into thinking they are e-mailing me their homework and questions, when in fact, without notice to myself, my e-mail address was changed to molly@leadersclub.com . For this reason, I requested that Leaders Club contact my subscribers and let them know their e-mails to myself are not confidential and additionally I expect that you will let them know when they e-mail me off of their ISP or looking at my e-mail contact in Leaders Club, that their e-mail is being intercepted and not delivered to Cammy Stubbs as expected.

I know my rights as a distributor (independent marketer). I have reason to believe my rights are being violated.

Update on Leaders Club situation

As of June 28th 2007
On May 18th, I received notification that I was supposedly in “apparent violation” of my Terms of Membership and was given until 06-29-07 to satisfy Leaders Club’s office. I responded via email on 6-20-07 to Andre Vatke president of Leaders Club and three members of Leaders Club customer service staff, in addition to also sending a certified letter received by Leaders Club corporate office on 06-25-07 and also a 2nd reply request via email on 06-26-07 and have yet to receive any correspondence or reply from Leaders Club or Andre Vatke.

“Since personal discussion was unproductive our only option is to formally enforce our terms. Upon satisfying this office by the date indicated in the letter sent and according to the remedies listed above, all held funds will be released.”

No notice was give to me prior to my suspension and withholding my check
Since you they received my reply correspondence and I have not gotten any response from
them I expect that my May commission have been released immediately???

Sad Leaders Club News

Recently there have been some sad changes within Leaders Club.
Leaders Club has black-listed me and many others from our own organizations. As of Friday the 15th of June I have been unable to access my Leaders Club Members Area as well as many other associates. In addition we have been informed that they are withholding our commissions earned in May until further notice.
What this means is that I am no longer able to service my subscribers as their Leaders Club upline. If my subscribers look on their report they will see that I am still showing there but Leaders Club plans on terminating us on June 29, keeping the money we have earned. My email address on my subscriber's reports has been changed to molly at leadersclub. This have been done in order to keep us from accessing our organizations.Now you may be thinking that Leaders Club wouldn't do that without reason, so I am going to give you their reasons here so you have the truth and you can decide for yourself what you think.
“Ann Sieg's Renegade Network Marketer program is a competitive program. Any CMC member involved or promoting this program is in violation of the CMC Agreement and Leaders Club's membership terms. “
First, this program was designed to help our people learn online marketing after or while learning the fundamentals in Leaders Club. This is a complementary program. None of the material is taken from Leaders Club material. This was never designed to compete against Leaders Club. Secondly, I am an independent distributor and Leaders Club has no right to determine what I can or can not promote. They are always telling distributors in other network marketing companies that it is okay to promote Leaders Club, and the subscriber's primary company has no right to prevent them from doing so, so this is contradictory.

“We (LeadersClub) have found that the WorksTeam is offering training which is similar to Leaders Club, to persons not involved with Leaders Club. So does that mean that if a Leaders Club subscriber learns things through their paid subscription in Leader Club they are not allowed to teach their downline any of these concepts? What is the point of membership then? The irony here is that the majority of the material in Leaders Club was developed by Jeff Zalewski, former National Director of Training, who LeadersClub just terminated May 30 also.

“We (LeadersClub) have numerous complaints with supporting evidence that there is a concerted effort from numerous WorksTeam members to recruit existing Leaders Club subscribers into another multi-level company. Our evidence show this contact is both coordinated and targeted to the entire organization. This is a clear violation of the Leaders Club membership terms.”What they are referring to is the fact that I and others in SendOutCards conducted a Webinar on how SendOutCards can be utilized in ANY business to increase referrals, retention and increase sales. The subject and content of the Webinar was to help people be more successful in their chosen business. My associates and I only invited the people we have direct contact with - the people we have personally sponsored into Leaders Club, our own leads, and those who have contacted us.So according to this it is okay for distributors in other companies to join Leaders Club to utilize training and even earn referral commissions in this multi-level company, but it is not okay to offer services like SendOutCards to Leaders Club subscribers.

My goal has always been and still remains to help people become professional network marketers and to help them obtain the level of success they desire within their chosen company.Fortunately I have learned the importance of always developing multiple income streams because I have seen and experienced this before - people in control getting greedy or making poor decisions which affect the lives of the distributors in the organization. I can not in good concious referre people to a company who has shown that their level of professionalism is not in alignment with my code of ethics and standards a company who mistreats, abuseses and takes advantage of long time loyal members. I will concentrate on building my other businesses, filling the gap of no longer utilizing the training in Leaders Club, and help others get back on track.I work with a lot of great people. These are strong leaders who will not just let Leaders Club steal their earned income, so Leaders Club will ultimately see the repercussions of their actions.At the same time, we will move on and be stronger for it.

It's a Marathon not a Sprint - Pace Yourself!

I did something this last weekend I have never done before in my life.

I participated in a marathon.

Yep a marathon- one that is held here in my hometown as an annual event.

All of my family and I ran in this specific marathon in memory of my sister who passed away last fall.

Now, I like watching and observing people in these types of situations.

As everyone crowed the starting line anticipating the start of the race, there was
anticipation and excitement in the air, everyone was looking around sizing each other up.
As the pop gun fired people hollered with excitement as they sprinted off the starting line.

Some sprinted hard and some took off more conservatively.
As I looked and watched throughout the race at all of the other participants,
I saw some that had started off really strong and aggressively, sustain that pace all through the race.
MOST however ran out of gas!

I so often hear from new team members and subscribers that are overwhelmed by the abundance of resources
available to them, the learning curve and all the things they realize they need to put into place for their success.

It is so so important to not swamp your own boat by drowning yourself with to much at once.
You will paralyze yourself with fear.

Everyone has to start somewhere so just remember...

This is a Marathon - Not a Sprint!

Set a pace you can sustain for a considerable period of time.

If you try to take on to much at once and have unrealistic expectations,
you will set yourself up for discouragement witch is the breeding ground for failure in NWM.

This is my blueprint for success: Have a positive Attitude, add Long Term Vision, then Multiply that by Effort over Time, and then again Multiply it by Discipline = Your Success.

Plan for success

All this week I have been working on updates and upgrades to my website and tools to help me
leverage my time an effort. When I began my marketing efforts I did not have a grasp on what it would all take to market, recruit, be a team leader and still be a mom and wife effectively without loosing my mind! Talk about need for time management!

If I had been more organized and prepared from the start I would have saved myself a lot of time and effort!

So Ask yourself ; "Are you in this business for the long-haul?"

If you said yes... I then say

Plan for success!!

Learn from my mistakes get the right tools in place, set them up from the begining,
streamline and automate what you can to help leverage your time and efforts.
Save yourself from having to repeat and re-do things you could have done right out of the starting gate.

What are you fighting for...

Do you remember why did you start your NWM business?

We all joined this industry for our own personal reasons,
but it all boils down to making money right?

In order to make money we have to make sales and have
duplication, that means you be a leader!

So my question is...

Are you a leader worth following?

The definition of leader is:
a person who has commanding authority or influence; a person who rules or guides or inspires others ;

If you were in your downline would you like what you saw, would you be motivated and inspired?
Are you treating people the way you would like to be treated?
Would you duplicate what "you" are doing?
Do you motivate, educate and equip others for success?
Are you the kind of leader that wants others to achieve success even if it means surpassing what you have accomplished?
OR
Are you intimidated and threatened by that?

YOU and your actions set the stage for what is duplicated in your organization.

I challenge all of us to be better leaders, set a high standard for others, and create an environment that others can grow and thrive in to unlock their potential.

What does it take to achieve a High level of success?
First of all, I am old fashioned.
I truly believe that if you want to make a 6 figure income in ANY industry,
you have to work hard and be very good at what you do.
(Only those bringing established teams, experience, and money make it big fast.)
You also will need the time, money, and attention to devote to growing your business.
I love this industry because you can start part time and achieve great success, but
knowing that it will still take a minimum of 10 - 15 hours/week and $300+/month in a marketing budget to achieve results that will get you to a 6 figure income in 2 to 5 years. . . .
I congratulate you for being on this 2 - 5 year journey that will change your life.
The majority of people will fall down along the journey and blame something other than themselves; upline, downline, primary company, leads, friends, sponsor, etc, etc, etc.
All these are important factors, but the main ingredient you will find in the mirror.
Do you have the passion and desire to stick to your course?
If you have found a company and product or service you believe in, stick with it!
If you have not found one, utilize the education and resources you have access to -Me
to find one ASAP - Time IS Money!
Learn the skills of a professional NWM'er, and the compensation of a professional will
come in time..
